IARU-ATV-Kontest 2020


Der diesjährige ATV-Kontest der IARU Region 1 fand am 13./14. Juni 2020 statt. Aufgrund von Reisebeschränkungen in einigen Ländern, die durch die COVID-19-Pandemie verursacht wurden, wurden die Hauptwertungstabellen in 2 Abschnitte unterteilt. Abschnitt 1 war für Teilnehmer vorgesehen, die nur von ihrer Heimatstation aus operierten, während Teilnehmer, die von alternativen Adressen oder Portabel-Standorten aus operierten, an Abschnitt 2 teilnahmen. Es gab 92 Teilnehmer aus 8 Ländern im Wettbewerb, wobei alle Bänder von 432 MHz bis 76 GHz genutzt wurden.
Der Gesamtsieger der Sektion 1 für Feststationen war Wim, PE1EZU, während Francesco, IK3HHG, die Sektion 2 gewann und die höchste Gesamtpunktzahl erzielte. Die Ausbreitungsbedingungen schienen in ganz Südeuropa mit einer Anzahl von Kontakten (sogar auf 3 cm) über 200 km gut zu sein. Das beste DX war ein 70-cm-ATV-Kontakt zwischen F5AGO und F1CSY über 370 km. Die Beteiligung war gegenüber dem letzten Jahr stark erhöht (von 55 auf 92). Die meisten ATVer kamen aus Italien (33), dann 28 aus den Niederlanden und 15 aus Großbritannien.

Es gab 2 deutsche Teilnehmer, von denen DC8UG mit 1128 Punkten Platz 29 in Sektion 1 erreichte und DK7UP/P mit 2262 Punkten Platz 12 in Sektion 2.

ARISS Contact with school in Brazil

An ARISS educational school contact is planned for Chris Cassidy KF5KDR with students at the.American School of Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The students will be talking with the ISS from their homes over phone lines. The link to the ISS will be operated by the amateur radio ground station ON4ISS, located in Belgium.

The contact is scheduled on Thursday July 30, 2020 at approximately 16.41 UTC, which is 18.41 CEST. Downlink signals will be audible over Western Europe on 145.800 MHz narrowband FM.

  12. Pietra (grade 6): Does the absence of gravity make it harder to eat and drink certain foods in space?
  13. Josefina (grade 12): Are there essentials you or the crew takes to the ISS apart from food and water, such as certain materials to run experiments or personal items?
  14. Martina (grade 12): How do satellites and spaceships make their way through all the space debris safely? Is the ISS doing something to minimize space debris?
  15. Andres (grade 12): What is your opinion on the human race striving to become a multi-planetary species?
